Frequently asked questions

What does Tunalo make?

Lyric videos for your songs. You upload a song, Tunalo writes and times the lyrics to the vocals, makes or uses a background image, and renders a finished HD video with your lyrics on it. Parts of it use AI, so check your lyrics and your video before you publish them.

Which audio files can I upload?

MP3 or WAV, up to 50 MB per song. You can paste your own lyrics, or let Tunalo write them from the song.

Which video formats do I get?

Landscape 16:9 for YouTube, and vertical 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok.

How long does a video take?

A few minutes for most songs. The work runs on our servers, so you can close the tab and come back to it.

How do credits work?

Making videos and images uses credits, and the cost of each action is shown before you start it. A new account gets 1,000 free credits, once, with no card. Credits held for work that fails are returned.

Do unused credits expire?

Free credits and top-up credits don't expire. A monthly plan adds its credits each month, and unused plan credits carry over up to one month's worth of your plan's credits; anything above that expires when the next month's credits are added. If you move to the free plan or cancel, your plan credits expire when your paid period ends. Plan credits are used first.

How do I pay, change or cancel my plan?

Payments are handled by Stripe, in US dollars, monthly or yearly. You can cancel or move to a smaller plan in your Profile at any time; the change takes effect at the end of the period you paid for.

Can I get a refund?

In the EU you can withdraw from a new plan or a credit top-up within 14 days: use Withdraw from contract here next to the purchase under Profile → Purchases. We refund the credits you haven't used, pro rata, to the way you paid. Details in the terms.

Who owns my videos?

You do. You keep all rights to the songs, lyrics and images you upload and to the videos you make. You need the rights to everything you upload, including the music and anyone shown in a photo.

Are my videos labelled as made with AI?

Every exported video carries Content Credentials (a signed C2PA record) and file metadata saying it was made with Tunalo. Only when it contains AI-generated imagery, such as a generated background, do they also say so, as the EU AI Act asks. A video made only from your own image doesn't get that label.

Is my song sent to anyone else?

Lyrics are transcribed on our own servers; your song is not sent to a third party for that. Google's Gemini API makes background images and descriptions from your photos, lyrics and notes. See the privacy policy.

How do I download my data or delete my account?

In your Profile: Download my data gives you a zip of your songs, lyrics, images and videos, and Delete account removes your files from the app at once and erases them for good after 14 days. Unused credits are lost when you delete your account.
